In Class Today: 9/18

The following activities took place in class today:

1) Proofreading Practice: "The Petrified Forest" Day 1.

2) Quiz on Figurative Language Terms.

3) Reader Response questions for The House on Mango Street reading assignment 1, pages 3-13, administered for completion in class.

4) Model After Mango Activity 1 assigned. Student will craft a well-developed paragraph modeled after the first vignette in the book. In their individual vignettes their focus will be on their own home and the tone and mood it evokes to them.

Homework:

a) The House on Mango Street reading assignment 2, pages 14-27, along with reading journal entries for each vignette read.

b) Complete drafting Model After Mango 1 if necessary.

Remember, it is YOUR responsibility to see the teacher PRIOR to Advisement and arrange for a pass when you need assistance with any home/classwork.
